Course overview
This traineeship reflects the role of community service workers who deliver and support person-centred services to individuals and groups.
Workers may provide support, advocacy or interventions to individual persons, groups or communities across a range of services. At this level, workers may be autonomous with limited responsibility within established parameters and may supervise others. Work may take place in a range of community service, case work or case management contexts.
The skills in this qualification must be applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State or Territory legislation, Australian standards and industry codes of practice.
Traineeship requirements
Before starting this course, students must be employed in this vocation and meet the relevant entry requirements.
Traineeship eligibility and conditions may vary per employer and traineeship.
Course delivery and duration
The 12-month program is delivered in shorter, more manageable terms of learning.
After a program orientation session, participants will engage in online group workshops and tutorials, online activities, and have access to on-demand support as required.
Mentoring and support
We support businesses in various industries by guiding trainees through their learning journey.
Our program offers trainees the chance to work with professionals from our network of approved Apprenticeship Network Providers and from the guidance of our team.
We conduct workplace visits to ensure they get the support they need.
Course structure
CHC42021 – Certificate IV in Community Services is a nationally recognised qualification.
Students will need to complete 15 Units of Competency, including:
