Course overview
The Certificate I in Workplace Skills qualification allows individuals to develop essential skills and knowledge to prepare for work.
This is an entry-level qualification that allows you to develop the basic skills to prepare you to enter, or return to work, in a variety of workplaces where you would typically undertake a range of simple tasks under close supervision.
Typically suited to individuals who have not yet entered the workforce, this certificate allows students to undertake a variety of simple tasks under close supervision, build an understanding of the business environment and develop necessary skills and knowledge in preparation for work.
Course duration and delivery
The 6-month program is delivered in shorter, more manageable terms of learning.
After a program orientation session, you will engage in online group workshops and tutorials, online activities, and have access to on-demand support as required.

Program details
This is an entry-level course, and no previous skills or experience are necessary.
While there are no specific entry requirements, students are required to take the Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment.

Computer with access to the Internet and with the ability to conduct video interviews. Minimum specifications for your computer are:
- Microsoft Windows 7 or later or Mac OS X or above
- Microsoft Office
- Up-to-date internet browser
- You may also need access to a printer and Adobe Acrobat reader to view and print PDFs (free download)
- A mobile video recording device i.e., a mobile phone that can record short video.
What you will study
BSB10120 – Certificate I in Workplace Skills is a nationally recognised qualification. Students will need to complete 6 Units of Competency, including:
